Janae & Buck- San Juan Batista Wedding photography

San Juan Bautista was the setting for Janae and Buck to tie the knot. Their rooms at Posada de San Juan were just across the hallway, but they were both in their own (nervous) worlds before their first meeting. Buck exited the hotel to see his lovely bride-to-be waiting for him at the foot of the stairs. Buck’s room was the epitome of ‘wedding casual’, while Janae’s was a flurry of hairdressers, product and last minute touches. Ok, Buck got some ‘product’, too. We wandered the town with the almost married couple as adults stood aside with smiles, and several little girls whispered to parents and pointed with glee at the lovely bride. The ceremony was in the historic Mission San Juan, and the reception was held at nearby Casa Maria who set out a lovely spread of crab cakes, polenta, risotto and other tasty snacks from their vantage point above the valley. Appetizers included a refreshing and tasty white wine sangria, and were followed up with a scrumptious looking buffet.

Kathryn & Andrew - Wedding Photography Santa Clara

We entered the groom’s room to find the boys playing a rousing game of monopoly in between fastening cufflinks and straightening ties (and begging for help in attaching boutonnieres!) Kathryn was all too together in her heart covered wrap before she donned the wedding dress. The ceremony was at the historic Ainsley House in Campbell, which provided a dramatic entry for Kathryn in her flowing gown. But before that we took advantage of the grounds for some fun shots with both the male and female parties of the bridal entourage. Groomsman Phil did double duty as he performed his first ceremony to join the couple in marriage. If Kathryn’s mom played the forbidden-to-be-touched piano in the Ainsley House, you didn’t hear it here.
The reception was held at the Freedom Hall and Gardens, which did a spectacular job of providing both a delicious buffet and raucous dance venue. We had heard stories about Andrew, and he and his groomsmen made good on the promise, providing a lively and entertaining focus for the evening’s festivities. This is one of the few weddings we’ve attended where the dance floor was filled from the moment it was opened (ok, folks started even before that!) until the last dance was called out by the DJ.
