Jessica & Juan- Engagement Photography

We took advantage of a low tide to take this Watsonville couple to this arch which is usually blocked by high water. Even so, a rogue set did manage to get us a little wet. We were lucky to get a sunny day, as the previous day the fog sucked in all day long. Such is summer in Santa Cruz.

Sheehan Family- Santa Cruz Family Beach photography

The Sheehan family were in town from Fresno. Grandma came down from Sacramento to spend time and join in on the photo shoot. What could be more fun then spending a week in Santa Cruz with family.

Santa Cruz, Family Portraits- Santa Cruz portrait photographer

Mackenna was our high school senior model for this year. Here, her family shows that they are all quite photogenic, even Kona, the family’s golden retriever. In fact, she even ran in to get in on a family shot. Here we chose a grassy field instead of the classic Santa Cruz beach setting.

Santa Cruz, Family & Maternity Beach Portraits - Santa Cruz Photographer

We did our first combined family/maternity with this couple from San Jose. Tiffany’s Hawaiian beauty seemed to transform Santa Cruz into a tropical paradise. The only thing we were missing was a warm breeze. The boys were shy at first, but really came alive when they got to climb some rocks. At least that kept them out of the water!

Congrats to Ramy and Drew- San Jose Wedding Photographer

Tillykke to Ramy and Drew!
That’s ‘Congratulations’ in Danish. Travel was a big part of this couple’s story, as they met in Florida while he was on an extended visit from California and she had travelled from Denmark. They met on a dive boat, fell in love, and ended up at the Hayes Mansion on a lovely day for a wedding. It was an intimate affair with an international audience as Ramy had a multitude of friends and extended family come all the way from Copenhagen. The day was laced with wonderful Danish traditions, from the ‘little bride and groom’, to cutting off the toes of the groom’s socks after removing the garter. The guests were as fun and lively as the newlyweds, with one toast culminating in a pair of red clown noses for the bride and groom. Not only were they funny, they made for great photographs!

Wow, What a wonderful day.

Fun at West Coast School with Scott Robert Lim

Here are just a few images taken at my week down in San Diego. It was great fun experimenting with light. I met lots of fellow photographers and had time to create some beautiful portraits. My weeks class was with Scott Robert Lim. He was inspiring and refreshing. At West Coast school you just can't help but learn new things from your instructor but from all the other photographers attending. There is just so much great creative energy.
