Becca & Jay - Wedding Photography Danville

Congratulations to Becca & Jay (Rebecca and Jose)they were married April 25th, 2009. They had decided to meet before the ceremony at a picturesque waterfall – in San Ramon. It was a beautiful location for photography – blue sky, falling water, and two people in love. The ceremony was hosted at a private mansion in the hills of Danville on this clear and blustery day. The wind made the veil and hair dance, but that paled in comparison to the couple’s first dance at the Sycamore Clubhouse which was the picture of poise and requited love. She twirled, she flirted, she enchanted. And of course, Jose was the focus of her attention as they glided over the dance floor. The dance was (amazingly) even more impressive than the reception which featured a live musician, the bride’s signature cocktail, a dessert table filled with homemade goodies and a sumptuous assortment of appetizers. The groom’s father – the patron – appropriately provided each table with a bottle of Patron, along with the requisite shot glasses and, of course, a wedge of lime. The dancing continued on into the night as the revelers wished the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness.

Here is Ziggy the ring bearer. He came in to interview me to be the photographer at his parents wedding. I just couldn't resist snapping a few photos. He had great facial expressions and an array of communication sounds all his own. I hope he puts a good word in for me.

Who said photographing children is not challenging and yet so rewarding when you capture a piece of that child's true essence on film. But you have to have lots of patience and you must see the humor in everything. Nissa is 3 years old and such the little poser. Annika is 2 and is quite the independent and is only photographed when she wants to be. But ahhh..... the true photographer just has to wait and eventually those true smiles will come out for kids just can't help themselves. Thank Goodness!

How to Apply
Please read the information below and fill out an email Annie to get an application (ann@akrowland.com). If you are a good candidate we will invite you to attend one of our model orientation sessions. Each school will have a limited number of positions available so don’t wait to apply. We will be accepting application until April June 15 2009. (looking for High school seniors attending school in the following areas: Santa Cruz, Aptos, Soquel, Scotts Valley, Felton, Los Gatos, Monterey, & Watsonvile.)

Who should apply
You must be a 2010 High School Senior that has a fun outgoing personality, is involved in extra curricular school or after school activities. Someone that enjoys being photographed.

What you will do
You will act as a model and spokesperson for my studio. Your images will appear in the studios marketing material, our mailers, on the internet, on the website and blog on Facebook and or myspace. You will help promote the studio by sharing your experience being photographed and your images using promo cards, on online gallery, or other displays.

What you will receive in return:
• One hour "model" session. This session must be completed by May 15, 2009 and must take place on a weekday. These images will be used in A.K. Rowland Photography promotional materials.
• You will also receive a complementary senior portrait session either on location or in studio. This session must be taken before July 31, 2009
• 50% off a family portrait session and 1 complimentary 8x10 from that session.
